The alarm goes off.
You reach for your phone
to turn it off.
You’re still holding it 40 minutes later.
Breakfast goes cold
while you feed something else.
Instagram, then Snapchat, then back to Instagram. You're not even enjoying it — your thumb just keeps going. You couldn't name one thing you've seen in the last ten minutes.
You sit down. Laptop open.
Phone face-down. You mean it this time.
Three minutes of real focus. Then the smallest itch — "just a quick break" — and your hand is already moving toward the phone you swore you'd ignore.
“Operating Systems. Chapter 7. Let’s go.”
Five hours.
Nothing to show for it.
Chapter 7 is still open in a tab you haven't touched since 9:14. Be honest — you're not reading it today either.
You're not lazy.
You're outgunned.
Every autoplay, every "recommended for you," every infinite scroll was built by thousands of engineers paid to keep you watching. It was never a fair fight — and the numbers prove you're not the only one losing it.
Sources: Pew Research Center, “Americans’ Social Media Use” (2024); DataReportal / Statista global usage data (2024); YouTube CPO remarks on algorithmic watch-time. Figures are averages; heavy users routinely exceed them.
Willpower was never going to win this. So stop bringing willpower to a fight the algorithm already rigged.
It starts with
one honest choice.
You don't need more willpower. You need one thing in your corner that doesn't get tired, doesn't bargain, and quietly holds the line while you do the work. Not to control you — to hand you back the controls.
This is the first step off autopilot. The day you stop letting the algorithm spend your hours and start spending them yourself.
Open the wrong video mid-session?
You don't get to watch it.
While a focus session is live, the moment you open a YouTube video that's off your goal — gaming, vlogs, entertainment — the LittleJohnny extension pulls you straight back out. No "just this once." Don't take our word for it. Try to watch one.
Heads up — this is a simplified preview, not the real product. It's here to show the idea. The actual extension will look and behave differently, and in practice the redirect happens the instant the page loads, so you barely even see the video.
Two phases.
Then you don't get a vote.
Gathering
Two minutes before the lockdown. Use them like you mean it: open the lecture and the PDFs you need, fill your water bottle, grab your notes and a pen, hit the bathroom, silence your phone. Get everything within arm's reach — because once the gate closes, you're not leaving to “just grab something.”
Focus
The timer runs. YouTube is curated against your goal, your blocklist enforces in the background, Shorts stop existing — and open a distraction and you're redirected on the spot. No drifting until the clock hits zero.
How locked in
do you want to be?
Declare any goal and the on-device AI curates your YouTube feed against it. Three escalating tiers decide how much gets through.
Low
Relax, but still consume something worthwhile. Allows tutorials, talks, and documentaries — blocks brain-rot, gaming, and mindless entertainment.
Medium
Raises the barrier. Only structured lectures, in-depth walkthroughs, and genuinely educational material gets through. Passive content is filtered out.
Strict
You declare an exact Subject and Topic, and only YouTube videos that truly match get through. Everything even slightly off-target is pulled — this is focus with zero slack.
Curating YouTube
is only half of it.
YouTube gets the AI scalpel — judged video by video. Every other site you name gets the blunt instrument: blocked outright, the whole domain, no exceptions. And the system resists your own attempts to cheat it.
Omnipresent Domain Blocker
Define your own blocklist — Twitter, Reddit, whatever pulls you away. It stays enforced in the background even during a YouTube session, so you can't quietly open a tab and drift.
Tamper-Proof Blocklist
When a session starts, your blocklist is snapshotted. Try to sneak a domain off the list mid-session and it's detected and instantly reverted. The rules you set are the rules you live with.
Productivity Dashboard
Sessions, tasks, and focus history sync to a companion web dashboard, so you can watch your discipline compound over weeks instead of vanishing the moment a session ends.
Your browsing history
stays yours.
A focus tool has to look at what's on your screen to do its job — so we keep as much of that judgement as possible on your own machine. When a video needs additional analysis, its title, channel, and description — together with your focus context — may be processed securely in the cloud. Your full browsing history is never uploaded or sold.
Mostly on your device
Most videos are judged right on your computer. When more analysis is needed, limited video metadata and your focus context may be processed securely in the cloud.
Never sold. Ever.
No ad trackers, no data brokers, no "anonymised insights" quietly sold on. That's not the deal.
You control the sync
The only thing that leaves is the focus sessions you choose to sync to your dashboard — and only while you're signed in.
Discipline is free.
Unlimited discipline is $2 a month.
Blocking distracting sites costs nothing, forever. Pay only if you want the AI-curated YouTube sessions off the leash — and the dashboard that proves you're changing.

Before you ask.
Is my browsing data private?
Yes. Most videos are judged right on your own device. When additional analysis is needed, limited video metadata — the title, channel, and description — and your focus context may be processed securely in the cloud. Your full browsing history is never uploaded or sold. Your account settings and focus-session data sync while you're signed in.
Which browsers does it work on?
Chrome, Brave, Microsoft Edge and other Chromium-based browsers. If your browser is built on Chromium, LittleJohnny should feel right at home.
Do I need an account?
Yes — whether you're on the free or paid plan. A free account stores your settings and keeps your sessions in sync across devices.
What counts as a focus session?
A timer you start with a goal. On the free plan you get one YouTube focus session a day, up to an hour. Normal mode — blocking your custom list of distracting sites — is unlimited and free. Pro removes the caps entirely.
Does the smart filtering work on TikTok or Instagram?
Not yet. The AI that judges content video by video is YouTube-only for now. Every other distracting site can still be blocked outright through your custom blocklist.
Can I quit a session in an emergency?
You're never truly locked out — but quitting early takes deliberate friction by design, so you can't bail on impulse the second focus gets uncomfortable.
The tool will be
right here.
Whether you use it is on you.
We're not going to beg. LittleJohnny will sit one click away in your toolbar, ready the moment you decide you're done losing Tuesdays. You already know which timeline you're living in. The other one's a choice.
Or close this tab and try again at 7:02 tomorrow. Your call.
